Museum Art Wallpaper: Daily

Classical art wallpaper. A new museum painting daily, and the story behind it.

Turn your phone into a museum wall. Tessera sets a different famous painting as your wallpaper every day, on your home and lock screen, from Van Gogh, Monet, Vermeer, Hokusai, Klimt, Cassatt and more than 250 other great artists, all in the public domain from open access collections.

Bored of staring at the same wallpaper for months? Pick your schedule, pick your style, and a new masterpiece arrives on its own. No hunting through wallpaper galleries, no saving files, no cropping in a photo editor.

PIXEL PERFECT CROPPING

Most wallpaper apps re-crop your image and cut off the part you cared about. Tessera does not. Pan and zoom each painting inside side by side Home and Lock mockups, and what you frame in the preview is exactly what lands on your screen, pixel for pixel. No surprise re-crop, no zoomed in corner of a masterpiece, no important detail sliced off by the clock.

PRO, ONE TIME PURCHASE

No subscription, ever. One payment unlocks everything, including features added later.

• Higher resolution HD masters at your screen's native pixel density
• The story behind each painting, or its artist, from WikiArt and Wikipedia
• Six painterly style filters: Oil paint, Mosaic, Posterize, Emboss, Newsprint and Page curl
• Five colour grades: Black and white, Sepia, Muted, Cool and Warm
• Unlimited favourites
• Custom rotation schedules, including hourly
• Separate crop for your Home and Lock screens

STYLE FILTERS THAT ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD

The filters run on your phone's GPU, so applying one is instant and costs almost nothing in battery. Mosaic breaks a painting into soft tiles, Oil paint deepens the brushwork, Newsprint and Posterize flatten it into graphic blocks, and Emboss picks out the texture of the canvas. Every filter previews live before you commit, on the real painting at your real screen size.

A REAL COLLECTION, NOT A STOCK PACK

The catalog is classical art rather than generic phone backgrounds: Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Baroque portraits, Japanese woodblock prints, Dutch Golden Age interiors, Cubist still life, landscapes, seascapes and botanical studies. Every artwork is a museum piece in the public domain, from open access collections, with the artist and title shown for each art piece so you actually learn what you are looking at.

LIGHT ON YOUR PHONE

Tessera has no ads, and no account or sign up of any kind. It does not run a background service to animate your screen, so it does not sit there draining your battery. Wallpapers are fetched when you ask for them and cached, and rotation runs as a scheduled job that respects your battery and Wi-Fi settings.

PERFECT IF YOU

• Want a fine art gallery on your phone instead of another gradient or stock photo
• Like Van Gogh, Monet, Hokusai, Vermeer, Klimt, Degas or Cezanne
• Love vintage art, antique prints and classic oil painting
• Want your lock screen and home screen to feel different from everyone else's
• Are tired of wallpaper apps stuffed with ads and subscriptions
