App Description
App for research at Ghent University to support smokers in quitting smoking
IMPERIO QuitCoach is one of the tools within the IMPERIO study at Ghent University, aimed at finding effective methods for quitting smoking. This app is exclusively available to participants in this scientific study. For more information about the study, please visit the website of the PreDiCT team (http://predict.idlab.ugent.be), part of the IDLab research group at UGent. The app is currently in the final phase, during which we offer personal insights and guidance to actively support you on your journey to quit smoking. To this end, the app also collects contextual data, which is used to analyze when you might be triggered to smoke. If you are potentially triggered, the chatbot in the app will send you a message. The study also collects contextual data from smartwatch sensors via a Wear OS app: heart rate, heart rate interval (IBI), skin temperature, and photoplethysmogram (PPG) data. This data is also used to analyze the context or physiological state you are in when you smoke, so that similar contexts or physiological states at other times can be detected as potential triggers for smoking behavior. If such a trigger is detected, the chatbot in the app will send you a message.
The Wear OS app contains a tile that allows you to record smoking moments directly from your Wear OS device. By tapping the button in the tile, you can enter the time and complete the corresponding questionnaire.
This app uses an Accessibility Service to monitor application usage on your device. You can refuse this, cancel your participation, or have your data deleted at any time.
