The books of the New Testament were written after the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. They narrate the new covenant that God made with the people after the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

These books were written by 7 people during a period of 50 years and are divided into four parts:

- The Gospels: they were written in Greek by the apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and recount the life and teachings of Jesus.

- The Acts of the Apostles recounts the preaching of the apostles and the beginning of the Christian religion and church. They were written by Luke and constitute a historical account of the development of Christianity.

- The 21 epistles were written by the apostles Peter, John, James, Jude and Paul who wrote 14 of them, to be read publicly in the churches. They were the means of communication of the time and were addressed to different peoples: the Romans, the Corinthians, the Galatians, the Ephesians, the Philippians, the Colossians, the Thessalonians, Timothy, Titus and Philemon.

- The apocalypse or revelation: it is the last book of the Bible in which the final triumph of Jesus Christ as enthroned King and that of his future people is described.
