Perform the setting of calculation using the saturation method bases.
The main liming objectives are: eliminating soil acidity and provide calcium and magnesium supply for the plants.
LIME NEED OF CALCULATION
CN = (CTC x (V2 - V1)) / (10 x PRNT)
Where: NC = lime requirement in tonnes per hectare (t / ha)
CTC = cation exchange capacity (soil analysis)
V1 = Current value of base saturation (soil analysis)
V2 = desired base saturation value (recommendation for culture)
PRNT = total neutralization of relative power (data on the package of limestone).
When the PRNT is not determined, it adopts the average value of 67%
Example: A soil analysis provided in the following amounts:
CTC = 83 mmol / dm and V = 23%.
The limestone to be used must PRNT = 76%.
The culture to be cultivated is maize which is recommended value of 70% saturation.
NC = (83 x (70 - 23) / 10 x 76) = approximately 5.1 / and 5 tons / ha
