Tool to help professionals at Germans Trias Hospital and the Metropolitana Nord to improve patient care by adjusting antibiotic treatments.
This new app includes all the protocols of the Hospital to make it easier for the professionals of the different services to make decisions when it comes to indicating and administering which antibiotics and at what doses and durations will be beneficial to guarantee safe treatment for patients , affecting the adequacy of the prescription, targeted and sequential treatment and the correct duration.
The main menu differentiates between empiric treatment in adult, pediatric and pre-surgical patients, other microorganisms and other antibiotic features.
The correct application of antibiotics is one of the tools described by the WHO to fight against antibiotic resistance, a global public health problem. After many decades of having highly effective antibiotics, currently, the emergence of multi-resistant microorganisms is producing an increase in the morbidity and mortality of infectious diseases.
