Speech Therapy App: Activities and exercises for articulation of phonemes, CL

This application is designed for children, young people and adults who have some difficulty or disorder related to the speech sounds of Chilean Spanish. This application contains activities, games, exercises, images and sounds of phonemes which can be used by the speech therapist and/or the family with the aim of intervening in the articulation and generalization of speech sounds. Constant practice through various activities facilitates progress and improvement in speech within guided therapy.

The application “Speech Therapy App: articulation exercises, CL” arose with the intention of offering a tool for speech and language specialists to use as part of the individualized intervention and a strategy that can be replicated by parents or guardians to speech therapy support at home.

It is a broad and accessible tool that allows activities and skills linked to speech to be carried out as a complement to enhance language in both children and adults, addressing aspects of phonological awareness, discrimination skills, memory and articulation.

Content: The application allows the practice of Spanish phonemes (B, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, LL, M, N, P, RR, R, S, T) including diphthongs and consonant groups with R and L in different positions within the word (initial, medial and final).

In addition, the activities increase in their level of complexity based on the phoneme and the number of syllables of each word presented.

This application is aimed at speech and language intervention for different ages through the identification, discrimination, repetition, memorization and feedback of words in isolation, in phrases and sentences. It should be noted that the application does not facilitate the exercise of monosyllabic words.

The application contains real images and illustrations of different topics. In addition, it includes a varied lexicon, the use of nouns, verbs and adjectives through sentences, which becomes a transversal tool for addressing all aspects and levels of language.

This application was developed in collaboration with the speech and language specialist Nancy González Hernández, with more than 9 years of experience in speech and language intervention both in the school and clinical settings.
