1. Physical Canvas Matching
Don't crop by eye. Crop by measurement. If you have a 30x40cm canvas and a rectangular photo, how do you crop it without distorting the image? Just enter your physical dimensions into Gridy, and it crops your reference photo to that exact ratio. When you draw the grid on your physical canvas, every cell matches the screen exactly. No more scaling errors.

2. Real-World Cell Dimensions
You know your canvas is 30cm wide, but how big is each grid cell? You shouldn't have to calculate 30 ÷ 10 manually. Gridy calculates it for you. Set 10 rows on a 30cm canvas, and the app tells you: "3cm Cells". Just take a ruler to your physical canvas and draw 3cm boxes for guaranteed perfect alignment.

3. Circular & Radial Grids
Standard square grids don't work for mandalas, circular logos, or radial tattoos. Switch to Circular Mode to set Rings (concentric circles) and Radials (spokes). Choose full lines cutting across the center or half lines radiating outward to create perfect radial symmetry for designs requiring a center point.

4. Artist's Overview & Distraction-Free Mode
Many apps lock your view, meaning you lose sight of the whole composition when you zoom in. Gridy lets you zoom in for detail, or zoom out to see the full image without hiding the grid. Need a cleaner look? Double-tap the preview area to hide all icons for a distraction-free, full-screen view of your reference.

WORKFLOW BUILT FOR CREATORS

Step 1: Set Dimensions: Enter your paper or canvas size (any unit). Optional, but highly recommended for precision work.
Step 2: Frame & Crop: Tap "Frame Image to Canvas." The crop box locks to your physical ratio. Adjust the framing, then confirm. (Note: Your original photo is never modified. We work on a secure copy.)
Step 3: Choose Grid: Pick Square (link rows/columns for perfect squares) or Circular (set rings/radials).
Step 4: Draw: Check the Info Bar to see your exact cell size (e.g., "2.5cm"). Draw the same size on your physical surface and transfer the image square-by-square.
Step 5: Save & Export: Export high-resolution JPGs. You can even bake the real-world dimensions onto the exported image (by enabling the Cell option) so you never lose track of a project's scale later.

CUSTOMIZATION

Visibility: Adjust line thickness and opacity so the grid guides you without hiding the art.
Contrast: Choose high-contrast colors (White, Black, Red, etc.) to suit any image background.
Diagonals: Add 'X' guides to square cells for extra angle reference.
