Walking People or Gente que Camina began as a European project that aimed to promote physical activity among citizens, creating a suitable and simple environment for walking around the city.
In Madrid, two routes have been signposted in the center and sixteen healthy routes in peripheral districts to enjoy walking and exercising in a comfortable and safe way. The WAP Project, coordinated by Madrid Salud, aims to promote the habit of walking as a source of pleasure and well-being, beyond a sustainable, economic and equitable way of moving.
At the beginning of each itinerary there are panels that indicate the route of the route and the benefits of walking around the city.
The Walking People or Walking People program will be reinforced by an application for mobile phones or Smartphones.
