STEAM PLANT UTILITY – Expert System Software for Plant Utility Engineer
STEAM PLANT UTILITY is a software developed under AI fired ENERGY ENGINE TM Expert System Series libraries for the Steam Expansion Calculations in Steam Turbines, Steam Throttling Calculation in process & control valves, DE superheating Calculations in controlling process steam temperature and Steam Flashing calculation for energy recovery from condensate.
STEAM EXPANSION CALCULATION -
STEAM PLANT UTILITY calculates steam expansion calculation based on the inlet steam pressure & temperature, isentropic expansion efficiency and exit steam pressure as inputs. It gives exit steam parameters such as steam temperature and enthalpy and entropy values for the given exit pressure. This helps in checking the performance of the steam expanders/turbines in the process and power generating plants.
STEAM THROTTLING CALCULATION -
STEAM PLANT UTILITY calculates steam throttling calculation based on the inlet steam pressure, temperature & quality and exit steam pressure as inputs. It gives exit steam parameters such as steam temperature & quality along with inlet and exit steam specific volume. This calculation is useful in regulating pressure (PRV) in process steam line to the required level in the process and power generating plants.
STEAM DE-SUPERHEATING CALCULATION -
STEAM PLANT UTILITY calculates steam de-superheating calculation based on the inlet steam pressure, temperature, spray water temperature and exit process steam temperature (enter zero for saturated steam) & process steam quantity required as inputs. It gives exit steam parameters such as steam temperature and spray water quantity required along with inlet and exit steam specific volume and enthalpy values. This calculation is useful in optimising the steam temperature in process steam line to the required level in the process and power generating plants.
By combining & using the steam throttling and de-superheating calculation, the plant utility engineer can easily engineer a Pressure Reducing & De-superheating Station (PRDS) or Steam By-Pass effectively.
STEAM FLASHING CALCULATION -
STEAM PLANT UTILITY calculates steam flashing calculation based on the blowdown or steam trap pressure & quantity and Flash recovery pressure as inputs. It gives flash steam & condensate quantity along with parameters such as steam/condensate temperature and enthalpy. This calculation is useful in recovering the wastage precious heat energy in steam traps & hot condensate lines in the process and power generating plants. The recovered steam can be utilized effectively internally in the process.
