Lemon Laws are a very useful law to protect consumers who purchase old or defective vehicles or other goods that fail to meet quality and performance standards. Lemon law can be applicable in various goods but this law is mostly used for defective or leased motor vehicles.
The vehicle must have a defect that fail to meet quality, performance or safety within a specified period after purchase to qualify for the benefits of lemon law.

One of the most interesting parts of lemon law is that the manufacturers are only allowed to repair three to four time for the same issue. And if the defect is still there then the consumer can get a replacement vehicle or full refund. This generally includes the purchase price, sales tax , registration fees and other cost like towing and rental cars.

But many states require that consumers go through an process before they can file a lawsuit, a neutral third party reviews the case and makes a decision. However, if the consumer is not satisfied with the outcome of arbitration, they retain the right to pursue legal action.
