App Description
A shared family journal: events with photos, voice dictation and yearly recaps.
Family Log (FamLog) is a shared family journal app for Android phones. Each family member can have a profile and a timeline of dated events with photos, and on each birthday that year's events become a yearly recap (called Anniversary in the app).
What it does
• Shared family space: create a family or join one with an invite code.
• A profile for each family member, with name, birthdate, role and a short bio.
• Events with a date, a short message (up to 200 characters), an optional description, an emoji for the kind of moment (24 to choose from, such as first steps, first words, a tooth, a trip or graduation) and up to 10 photos.
• Voice dictation: say what happened, to whom and when, and the app fills in the event so you can review it or undo it.
• Anyone in the family can add events to anyone's timeline, and each event shows who wrote it.
• Search a person's whole history and filter it by kind of moment.
• Yearly activity map for each person (one square per day) and a week-by-week strip on every home card.
• Anniversary summaries: on each birthday, that year's moments are gathered month by month with authors and photos.
• Offline reading of the history you already loaded; anything new needs a connection.
• Home-screen widget with your family's recent activity map (after you log in).
Who it is for
Parents, partners, grandparents and relatives who want one shared record of family life: first words, first steps, trips, birthdays and school years. Any family member can have a profile, not only babies. The app has no country-specific features and runs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian and Simplified Chinese. It is not designed for children under 13.
How it works
1. Sign up with your email, then create a family or join one with an invite code.
2. Add a profile for each person in the family.
3. Save events with photos by typing or by voice.
Questions and answers
Who can see and add to my family's events and photos?
Only people who join your family with its invite code can see them in the app. Those people can add events to any member's timeline; each event shows its author. There is no public feed, no followers and no likes. Photos are stored at unlisted web addresses (anyone with the link could open them), so keep your invite code and photo links private.
Does Family Log work offline?
You can read the history you already loaded without a connection. Adding anything new, photos included, needs a connection.
Can I add events by voice?
Yes. Tap Dictate and say what happened, to whom and when. The app fills in the event and you can undo it. When your device language is Spanish or English, dates and kinds of moments are recognized too; in other languages the app fills in the message and person. The app itself does not save or upload your audio. Speech is turned into text by your device's system speech-recognition service, which may need an internet connection and may process audio online depending on your device and language.
What is an anniversary summary?
On each birthday the app gathers that year's moments month by month, with authors and photos, into a summary for that person.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from the Profile screen. Your account and the events you wrote are deleted. If you are the last member, the family and everything in it are deleted too.
Privacy, ads and purchases
The app shows no ads and has no purchases or subscriptions. Your family's content is stored on cloud servers used by the developer and is visible in the app only to family members. Usage and crash reports are on by default, never include your events, names or photos, and can be turned off in Profile > Privacy.
