App Description

Scan an invitation or say the plan: it becomes an event on your calendar.

Calendate is an Android app that creates events in your phone's calendar from a photo of an invitation or from a plan you say out loud. It reads the title, date, time and place, lets you check anything it is unsure about, and saves it to the calendar you choose.

WHAT IT DOES
• Scans invitations: take a photo, pick an image from your gallery or share one from another app. Text recognition runs on the device.
• Flags what it is unsure about: if a date like 5/8 can be read two ways, it shows both and highlights on the photo where each detail came from. Without a date and a start time, the add button stays disabled.
• Saves straight where you choose, with start time, duration and place.
• Takes dictation: tap the mic and say the plan. Speech is recognized on-device and needs Android 12 or newer. Voice commands such as «Invitá a Lucía a la placita mañana a las doce» (invite Lucía to the little square tomorrow at twelve) are understood when the phone is set to Spanish; in other languages the app transcribes what you say in the phone's language and marks the date and time for you to check.
• Adds guests: type their email addresses and, depending on the calendar you choose, they are added straight to the event (and they may get an email when you save) or the invitation is prepared by email with the event attached; in that case nothing goes out until you tap Send.

WHO IT IS FOR
People who get invitations as an image or screenshot (birthdays, meetings, parties, appointments) and would rather not retype the details. Calendate is not a calendar of its own: it writes to the ones already on your phone, including those from your email accounts. It runs on Android 8 or newer; voice dictation needs Android 12 or newer and offline speech recognition (on older versions you can still scan photos or type the plan). The interface comes in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese; reading text from photos works with the Latin alphabet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I turn a photo of an invitation into a calendar event?
Take the photo or pick an image, Calendate reads the details, you check what is marked as doubtful, then tap Add to calendar and Add event. It is saved where you choose.

Can I create an event or an alarm by voice?
Yes, on Android 12 or newer with the phone set to Spanish: tap the mic and say, for example, «Invitá a Lucía a la placita mañana a las doce» or «Despertame mañana a las 8». An alarm goes to the phone's Clock app if it falls within the next 24 hours; otherwise a reminder is attached to the event. In other languages the app transcribes what you say in the phone's language and marks the date and time for you to check.

Does it work offline and without an account?
Yes. There is no account and no server of its own; text recognition and dictation run on the phone. The first time, it may need to download a date model or the dictation language. If the dictation language is not available offline, the app says so instead of sending your voice to a server.

Can I invite other people?
Yes. Depending on the calendar you choose, guests are added directly to the event (and they may get an email when you save) or your email app opens with the invitation ready: in that case nothing is sent until you tap Send.

Which permissions does it ask for?
Calendar, to save or delete what you add; microphone, only when you dictate; alarms, to set the alarm in the Clock app. Picking a photo from the gallery needs no permission.

PRIVACY
No account, no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. Calendate has no server of its own, does not send your voice or photos to any server, and does not read your contacts. The event and its guests stay where you saved them and sync as usual. To fix bugs, the app sends technical crash reports.
