The Bilingual Village is a 501(c)(3) supporting bilingual learners & educators.
The Bilingual Village is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that facilitates and celebrates bilingualism. This Bilingual Village app connects educators, language learners, and community partners to support language learners’ developing second language proficiency. The map feature displays local establishments with bilingual public-facing employees who interact with language learners trying out their new language to carry out a task, such as ordering a sandwich. The app also lists bilingual speakers representing different areas of expertise and professions and a form for educators to request their presentation to their class, either in-person or virtually. There are Challenge activities for language learners to practice with before visiting an establishment, called Sentence Frames, which are level-appropriate fill-in-the-blank sentences.
