An audio app that takes you around Porth Teigr, exploring its past and present.
Porth Teigr is located in the Roath Basin area of Cardiff Bay, which was once the heart of Cardiff Docklands; the busiest port in the world during the 19th century. Today, Porth Teigr is part way through an unfolding development and this Porth Teigr Trail explores moments from past and present.
The soundscapes and narratives are there to discover as you walk around Porth Teigr, or alternatively, you can choose to experience the stories from elsewhere, by tapping on the map’s location markers.
Produced as part of Porth Teigr: Ideascape, a project exploring the physical and digital layers of Porth Teigr, the Porth Teigr Trail focusses on two narratives: The Lock Keeper’s Cottage of the past and the voices on site today, including Pedal Power and Coffi Co.
Porth Teigr: Ideascape is a 6 month R&D project by Calvium, supported by the Porth Teigr Community Fund in collaboration with igloo, Studio Response and creative partners Zubr, Compass Presents and On Par Productions.
