Retro Watch Complication

Add alarm, stopwatch, countdown, and chime to compatible WFF watch faces

** Important **

This is not a standalone app. Retro Watch Complication is a companion app that provides alarm, chime, stopwatch, and countdown functionality to compatible WFF (Watch Face Format) watch faces. You need to install both the watch face and this companion app for the features to work.

** Setup **

After installing both apps, open your compatible watch face and assign each of the complications provided by Retro Watch Complication to the matching slots on the face — info label, date, time, seconds, chime/alarm status, AM/PM. Without these assignments the watch face will not show any data.

** What it does **

Retro Watch Complication brings the functionality of a classic 80s–90s LCD digital watch to your Wear OS device — operated entirely from the watch face, with no need to open a separate app. The A/B/C/D buttons on the face cycle modes, set values, and control timers, just like the physical buttons on the original hardware.

** Modes and how to operate them **

Timekeeping — hours, minutes, seconds, weekday, and date.

- B = change date format
- C = next mode
- D = toggle 12/24-hour

World Time — time in a selected city.

- B = previous city
- C = next mode
- D = next city

Alarm — five independent daily alarm slots.

- A enters edit mode (in edit: C switches HH/MM, B/D increment/decrement, A saves)
- B cycles chime/alarm state: off → chime → alarm → both
- D cycles slots 1 → 5

When an alarm fires, tap anywhere or press any hardware button to dismiss. The alarm runs for 20 seconds before stopping automatically.

Stopwatch — under 1 h shows MM:SS.hundredths; past 1 h shows HH:MM:SS.

- A = split / release split / reset when stopped
- D = start / stop / resume

Countdown — up to 23:59:59, alerts at zero.

- A enters set mode (in set: C cycles HH/MM/SS, B/D increment/decrement, A saves) / resets if running
- D = start / stop / resume

** Settings **

The companion app's settings let you customize time format (12/24h, optional "24h" glyph), date format (order, leading zeros), weekday abbreviation length, which modes are enabled, button feedback (silent/beep/vibration/both), hourly chime, alarm feedback, and countdown alert. A test button previews each audio option.

** Performance notes **

This app runs within Wear OS and your watch's hardware constraints. Tap targets on a small round screen aren't always easy to hit on the first try, and the system occasionally delays button responses. Audio and vibration timing can shift during deep sleep or battery saver. Most of the time it's responsive, but small hiccups are part of running a multi-function utility on watch-class hardware.
