No model predictions, no rules of thumb. Dry Window analyzes the DWD weather radar in real time — a new frame every five minutes, 1 km resolution across all of Germany. A data-driven nowcasting algorithm on our backend in Frankfurt tracks the movement of each individual rain cell and calculates a minute-by-minute 60-minute forecast — pinpoint accurate for your location, not based on a postcode average. Dog walk in fifteen minutes? Dry Window tells you whether you need an umbrella or can start ten minutes later.

• Wind current on the location map — radar motion with fallback to ground stations in dry conditions.

• Warnings: DWD CAP feed.

• Pollen and UV: DWD Medical Meteorology.

• Current weather and 24-hour forecast: BrightSky (DWD MOSMIX).

• Base map: OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Renderer: MapLibre GL.


Trockenfenster is not an official weather warning service—official warnings come from the German Weather Service (DWD) and are marked accordingly.

DATA PROTECTION

• No advertising. No trackers. No analytics. No advertising IDs (IDFA/AAID).

• Your location is sent to the backend for calculation purposes and is not stored there permanently. Push locations (lat/lon + threshold) are stored anonymously—no real name, no email address.

• Crash reports are sent to Sentry in the EU region (Frankfurt), without IP address, location, or user ID.
