My Marathi site includes all aspects concerning Marathi people and Maharashtra
Literature and culture is an important heritage of human life and language is an essential medium for it. For the Maharashtrians, the Marathi language is a life preserver. Marathi people living outside Maharashtra have to make special efforts for this.Due to the surrounding conditions and the local language required for routine business, there are many difficulties in this.
Everyone wants Marathi language and culture to survive in our future generations. But children do not get time to teach Marathi. There are no Marathi schools, books or teachers. Marathi magazines and books are also not available.Even at home they get used to using another language instead of Marathi and gradually children start moving away from Marathi. Their contact with Marathi culture gets lost. If the parents take care to speak Marathi, the children understand Marathi and start speaking a little.But reading or writing requires special efforts. Such children need effective audio-visual media.
Marathi congregations who go to their children who have settled in the provinces or abroad and who always read Marathi magazines and books have to be content with reading a few issues of Marathi newspapers on the Internet. The solution can be to use the website as a medium for dissemination and availability of material.Dnyandeep undertook an ambitious project to introduce classic Marathi literature through the website My Marathi to meet this need of Marathi people living outside Maharashtra.Further, along with literature, information about Marathi customs, festivals, traditions and places of interest in Maharashtra was also included in this.
