Why we made it

In Bangladeshi joint families, both husband and wife run the household — but no one knows who paid what or which bills are still outstanding. Confusion, double payments, forgotten bills when you try to reconcile accounts at the end of the month.

Splitwise is not a two-way street — it's not an app that says "You give me 1000 taka." It's an app that says "We're running the household together, let's see if this bill is paid."
