Helps connect EPA and card read terminals to facilitate POS transactions
For EPA, a.k.a. Epicor Payment Application, residing on the cloud to communicate with card read terminals we need an agent in between and this is where Payment Companion comes in. The application can communicate with card read terminals using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi networks. The card read terminals are capable of supporting EMV contact, EMV contactless and Magnetic Stripe cards. This application is only supported with EPA hosted in the cloud which is used by Epicor ERP systems to perform POS transactions. Payment Companion also helps Epicor ERP systems to identify valid card read terminals so that all transactions are secure. Recommended for best overall performance and durability of Payment Companion is the Zebra®TC52/TC57 Android device.
