CARDIOEQUIVALENCES a converter of active principles and dose equivalences

CARDIOEQUIVALENCES is an application developed by Ferrer Internacional, S.A., with the objective of helping health professionals in the exchange between doses and therapeutic equivalents and, consequently, in the management of cardiovascular therapy.
Therapeutic equivalent means a drug with a different chemical structure than the original, but from which a similar therapeutic effect and adverse effects profile is expected, when administered to a patient in equivalent doses.
Therapeutic exchange is understood as the replacement of a drug that is chemically different from the one prescribed, but considered a therapeutic equivalent or a more appropriate alternative, based on a previously established and accepted protocol.
CARDIOEQUIVALENCES contains three buttons that allow: converting the dose of an ARA II to the dose of an ACE inhibitor, converting the dose of an ACE inhibitor to the dose of another ACEI and finding the lipid-lowering efficacy equivalences between the different statins, for the same reduction in the level of LDL cholesterol.
In addition, CARDIOEQUIVALENCES indicates the equivalences for which it is possible to reduce polymedication through the use of a poly-pill and, thus, simplify therapy.
Thanks to its design, the application is very intuitive and easy to use.
