App Description

Voice guidance and outing support app for the visually impaired

Recommended by the Saga Prefecture Association of Organizations for the Visually Impaired

[App Purpose]
"HARD" is a free mobility assistance app that supports people with visual impairments in going out.
It connects with compatible devices (voice guidance devices) in public facilities and shopping malls, as well as with nearby smartphones, to enable safer and smoother movement.

[What this app can do]

1. Personalized Voice Guidance

Simply passing near a compatible voice guidance device will automatically provide optimal guidance tailored to your gender and language settings. Unlike previous devices that "just make a sound," you can receive necessary information at the right time.

2. Automatic Elevator Calling

When you approach an elevator equipped with a compatible voice guidance device, the app will automatically connect. You can call the elevator without having to search for or press any buttons.

3. Meeting Support

By sharing an ID with the person you are meeting, you will be notified by sound when you are approaching each other. You can smoothly meet up relying on sound.

4. Search for nearby compatible locations
This feature finds voice guidance devices (compatible facilities) near your current location and provides voice guidance on distance and direction. It also integrates with Google Maps for directions to voice guidance devices and your home.

5. Convenient sound amplification function
This feature suppresses ambient noise and amplifies the voice of the person you are speaking with, making it easier to hear. It assists with conversations at service counters and in noisy places.

6. Emergency alerting
When you are in trouble, a single tap will emit a flash and voice alert to those around you, asking for help. Because it emits both voice and a flash, it also reduces the risk of becoming a victim of crime such as theft.
