App Description

Real-time alerts when your phone detects an open, unsecured Wi-Fi network.

CatchFi quietly watches the Wi-Fi networks around you and lets you know the moment it finds one that isn't secured โ€” before you accidentally connect to it.

Public and unknown Wi-Fi networks without a password are an easy way for someone nearby to snoop on your traffic. CatchFi doesn't try to "fix" or secure those networks โ€” instead, it gives you a clear, immediate heads-up (sound, vibration and a notification) so you can make an informed choice about connecting.

WHAT IT DOES
- Scans nearby Wi-Fi networks in the background, even when the app isn't open
- Alerts you with sound, vibration and a notification when it detects an open network
- Optional internet-access check, so you're only alerted about networks that actually work, not just ones that are visible
- One-tap "Test alarm" so you can check your sound and vibration setup
- Keeps a simple local history of what it found, with optional GPS location (off by default)
- Available in 14 languages, automatically following your phone's language, or pick one yourself in Settings

YOUR PRIVACY
Everything CatchFi finds stays on your phone. History and settings are stored locally and are never uploaded anywhere. The app shows ads through Google AdMob to stay free โ€” see our Privacy Policy for details on what AdMob processes.

WHY LOCATION PERMISSION?
Android requires location permission before it will return Wi-Fi scan results to any app โ€” this is a system-wide restriction, not something CatchFi asks for by choice. We only use it to read the names of nearby networks.

CatchFi is a lightweight scanning and alerting tool, not a VPN or firewall โ€” it can't secure a network for you, only warn you about it.
