CONTROL THE SWEEP

The SPEED control changes how long each audio fragment remains audible.

Longer settings produce slower and more complete fragments, making individual sounds easier to evaluate. Shorter settings create a faster and more fragmented sweep.

Start at 350 ms for a slower session, then gradually reduce the audio window to explore faster sweep speeds.

CHOOSE YOUR BAND

Switch between AM and FM-style modes during a session. FM produces cleaner, more musical fragments, while AM offers a rougher and more voice-focused sound.

You can also adjust the amount of static between fragments to create a quieter or more traditional spirit box experience.

HOW TO RUN A SESSION

1. Start the sweep.
2. Select AM or FM mode.
3. Begin with a 350 ms audio window and MED static.
4. Ask one short question.
5. Leave a quiet gap and listen.
6. Change the speed, static level or band when needed.
7. Take breaks and review anything interesting later.

For clearer results, use headphones in a quiet environment. Avoid deciding in advance what you expect to hear, since random audio fragments can sometimes resemble familiar words or voices.
