App Description

Block channel feeds in WhatsApp on your child's phone. Pairs with Family Link.

For best results, install on a child's device that's supervised by
Google Family Link. WhatsNot blocks WhatsApp's distraction surfaces;
Family Link prevents uninstall and keeps the child from disabling
protection in system settings.

You bought your kid a phone for messaging. Twenty minutes later
they're scrolling through algorithmic channels, "Updates" they never
asked for, and Communities full of strangers.

WhatsNot quietly removes the parts of WhatsApp that hijack a child's
attention — so messaging stays messaging.

WHAT WHATSNOT BLOCKS
• Updates tab — entirely inaccessible
• Communities tab — entirely inaccessible
• "Find Channels" / channel directory — blocked
• Algorithmic suggestions and discovery surfaces

WHAT STAYS UNTOUCHED
• Chats with friends and family
• Calls
• Status updates from people they actually follow
• Everything you actually want them using messaging for

HOW IT WORKS
WhatsNot uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when a
blocked area is opened and instantly send the user back to their
conversations. It only runs while WhatsApp is in the foreground. It
does not read messages, contacts, media, or any personal data — and
it never sends anything off the device.

DESIGNED FOR PARENTS, BUILT FOR KIDS' DEVICES
Set it once, on your child's phone. The protection runs silently
in the background. Pair with Google Family Link to prevent uninstall.

LANGUAGES
Full interface in English and Hebrew (עברית), with right-to-left
layout. The blocker itself works regardless of which language WhatsApp
is set to — labels are detected in both Hebrew and English
automatically.

PRIVACY
• No accounts
• No tracking
• No analytics
• No data leaves the device

The Accessibility Service permission is used for one purpose only: to
detect taps on blocked areas and dismiss them. That's it.

WHO IT'S FOR
• Parents protecting kids from algorithmic content discovery
• Educators and counselors working with young device users
• Anyone who wants WhatsApp without the social feed it became

WhatsNot doesn't make you delete WhatsApp. It just gives you back
the messenger you originally signed up for.
