TE ARA KŌKŌRANGI, HE ARA TOIORA is an educational resource designed for Kaupapa Māori mahi tūkino specialist services and independent practitioners.

This interactive mobile app aims to support their autonomy, expertise, and ability to provide proper support for Kaupapa Māori mahi tūkino specialist practice.


The App provides a rich knowledge base to contextualise and situate key domains of practice, or whetū, that allow Tāngata Whenua practitioners to be guided in, and oriented towards a pathway to support whānau healing.


The full narration demonstrates personal engagement including correct pronunciation of te reo Māori concepts and vocabulary. Users can practice and record themselves experiencing scenarios described in each section. Users also able to navigate the app to learn more about more than 200 specialist terms; source reference material to explore further; test their knowledge; and link to other practitioners through notifications and surveys.


TOAH-NNEST is the national network of those providing specialist services for sexual violence prevention and intervention: Te Ohaakii a Hine-National Network Ending Sexual Violence Together. It represents about 40 specialist not for profit organisations (NGOs); and many individual specialists working throughout Aotearoa New Zealand in whānau/ families, hapū, iwi and communities.
