It is essential/necessary that problems/troubles /questions
faced by the farmers in day to day agricultural activities must be
resolved/overcome as early as possible to make their farming sustainable. To
address routine concerns of the farmers, Directorate of Agriculture, Govt. of
Gujarat has prepared a mobile application called “KrushiPragati”. In this
application all the possible information related to agriculture pertaining to
farmer is available. Using KrushiPragati, farmers can Geo tag their farms and
can get specific updates for their farm i.e. Forecasting of infestation of
pests & diseases, Weather Forecasting, Crop Health, Crop growth, Crop
Calendar, Identification of stress in crop, Soil conditions, Contingency
planning, Crop Suitability, Specific periodical crop advisories and regular
agronomical as well salient sectors’ updates.
In other words, KrushiPragati is a very specific and very
essential support mechanism for the farmers to make their farming more
profitable and sustainable.
KrushiPragati enables farmers to have institutional support for all their
problems being faced in farming. It supports farmer to be versed with each
aspect of crops region wise i.e essential knowledge about crop varieties and
their characteristics, seeds, best time for sowing /planting /transplanting,
irrigation, crop spacing, requirement of specific fertilizer and its
application, knowledge about inter-culture operations, weed management
(weeding), control of plant diseases/insects/pests, crop harvesting etc. It
also provides key information regarding agri-inputs and nearby accessibility
for the same.
Moreover, KrushiPragati also has Chat option with experts.
Using this function, farmers can chat and share picture of their farm to get
immediate solutions from agri-experts. This function enables farmers to stay
agri-expert just one click away. KrushiPragati is not only limited to
agronomical support but it also helps farmers in post-harvest activities. It is
also a platform to know the Market price of produces (of APMC), various schemes
launched by state & central governments, and region-specific input supplier
with contact details.
