App Description

A quieter place to journal.

Matter is a small, invite-only journaling app for people who want a quieter, slower place to write.

Most social apps optimise for reach. Matter optimises for the entry itself: the act of writing one, the relief of putting words down, the optional small audience that sees it. The feed is short on purpose. There are no recommendations. Nobody is paying to be in front of you.

Every entry has a privacy level you choose:
- Private, only you
- Following only, your followers
- Public, anyone

You can change the level any time, on any entry.

Beyond the writing:
- Inline shortcuts for the way people actually write notes: *bold*, "quoted
lines", : tinted text :, dash bullets, hash headers
- Quote a paragraph from someone else's entry by starting your comment with
a > line, the way Reddit handles quotes
- Optional CBT-style reflection prompts, only when you tap for them

What we don't do:
- We don't sell your data to advertisers
- We don't train external AI models on your private entries
- We don't read your private entries except when legally required or to
investigate an abuse report

How access works: tap Request access on the sign-in screen, tell us a few sentences about how you'd use the app, and we'll get back to you. We're letting people in gradually so the community stays thoughtful.
