App Description

Accountable Personal Growth

Wake helps you achieve your goals by helping you set patterns that will get you there, holding you responsible for those patterns, and reflecting after each week to be better the following week. You can track you progress and see your visible momentum by chaining consecutive days together into streaks. Wake helps you create an environment around your goal where you have visible inspirations of why you want what you want so badly.

*** Why? ***
We made Wake because we believe that life is just way too short to waste it stuck in unwanted routines and ruts. These things make up hours of our days, and in the end, weeks, months, or years of our lives.

*** How? ***
Wake was made to leverage behavioral science (much like popular workout classes and gyms have been recently) with what we call motivational fees. This monetary consequence is very effective at holding people accountable because we are much more motivated by immediate consequences than we are by future possibilities. We are going to use that as a tool to help us get the things that we want.

The last time out brains evolved was somewhere between 40,000 and 200,000 years. Because of this, our brains are really bad at thinking about our future selves. Our old brain basically sees that person as a complete stranger. This is why most of our efforts to change fail in time.

The bright side is our old brain is really really good at avoiding consequences and dangerous situations. We are going to use the things our old brain is good at to help us grow.
