Virgin Australia typically reserves the forward seats on flights for their Platinum, Gold and Silver level customers, enabling their frequent flyers to choose the best seats.

This all changes exactly two days prior to departure, where at exactly 48 hours before the flight departure (or T-48 in aviation language) the majority of unallocated seats in the reserved sections of the plane are opened up to other flyers.

Then at 12 hours before the flight departure (or T-12 in aviation language) any remaining reserved seats released to all flyers!

Use this APP to calculate the optimal time to check your seat allocation for flights in four easy steps!

1/ Select the Date and Time of your Flight.
2/ Select the Departure State of your Flight.
3/ Easily create Calendar Reminders using the APP.
4/ Log into the Frequent Flyer Website at the Calculated Time and Select the best seats available. Note, depending upon unknown variables you may need to wait one minute after the calculated time for seats to be released!

Note, the VASH APP uses your devices current timezone to present the calculated VASH (T-48) and VASH (T-12) date/time's based upon the departure state's timezone of your selected flight. Additionally, the APP will also take into account any daylight saving differences between your current timezone and the departure state's timezone.
