I built Morning Mindful because I was fed up with my own mornings. You wake up, grab your phone for the time, and suddenly you're lost in Instagram or TikTok before you've even had a coffee. The day's half gone already.

Here's what it does: During your morning hours, it blocks those apps and nudges you to write a short journal entry first. A few lines, or whatever word count you set. Once you're done, everything unlocks and you get on with your day.

Simple as that. No gamified streaks. No productivity guilt. Just a quiet moment before the noise starts.

How it works

Pick your morning hours (like 6am-10am).

Try to open a blocked app.

Write in your journal.

Apps unlock. Done.

A soft prompt instead. Dismiss if you want, or take the hint.

Your journal is yours

Everything's encrypted (AES-256) and stored on your device. No accounts. No cloud unless you choose encrypted backup. I can't read it even if I wanted to.

Accessibility Service disclosure

Full Block mode uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when one of your selected blocked apps is opened during your chosen morning hours and redirect you to the journal screen. It is used only for app blocking and redirection. Morning Mindful does not read text from other apps, collect what you type in other apps, log your activity in other apps, or send that information off your device. This permission is optional, and Gentle Reminder mode works without it.
