App Description

Interactive app for Müggelberge Teufelssee Discovery Trail in Berlin Köpenick

With the app on Forest-Time-Travel

The area at the foot of the Müggelberge hills In the south-east of Berlin is full of surprises: all the fascination of nature within a small space. Semi-natural woodland, the mysterious Lake Teufelssee, Berlin’s only walkable moor and the city’s highest natural summit – this place is packed with highlights. And there’s no shortage of stories here either: lost sites, vanished ice giants, demolished towers and sunken castles are all waiting to be explored. So step into nature and enjoy!

There are lots of colour-themed Discovery Stations around Lake Teufelssee.
Each one focuses on a different topic, often viewed from different perspectives. So keep an eye out for the colours: they indicate which of the four main themes is being highlighted.
Yellow stands for history, green for forest and nature, orange for environment and climate, and blue is all about water.
With this app, you can digitally enhance the Discovery Trail of the Berlin Forestry Department on site.

Mini-games, puzzles, historical photos, audio stories and videos bring the region’s secrets and stories to light, offering captivating insights into the work of the Berlin Forestry Department.

How it works:

Look for the QR codes at each Discovery station.

Open the QR scanner and scan the codes to begin the challenge.

For each challenge you complete you get an acorn as your reward, so you build up your collection of acorns as you go. Use the map to navigate.
It shows where you are and which stations you’ve already visited.
The right place to start? There isn’t one! Just let your curiosity guide you. In total, 38 stations and 46 app challenges await you. Can you master them all? The trail stations will help you along the way.

So start exploring. The Berlin Forestry Department wishes you a wonderful visit.
