Western Ferries Checker helps you stay informed about the ferry service between Dunoon and Gourock and receive notifications if the service becomes disrupted.

One of the most useful features of the app is disruption alerts. If the service becomes partially disrupted or suspended, the app can send a notification directly to your phone so you know before reaching the terminal.

The idea for this feature came from a real situation. One day I left Glasgow heading back to Dunoon. The weather was perfectly fine in Glasgow, but by the time I reached Gourock the wind had picked up and the ferry service had been suspended. I only discovered this once I arrived at the terminal and ended up having to drive all the way back and go through the Rest and Be Thankful. A simple notification on my phone would have saved a lot of time and driving.

This app was created to help avoid situations like that by making ferry information easy to check at a glance.
