App Description
Handwrite, highlight, and note the complete mushaf. Offline, private, free.
Ayah Ink is a Qur'an study desk. The complete mushaf is on the page, and your handwriting stays on it: underline a phrase, circle a root, write a margin note, and find it again years later in the exact place you left it.
Study is offline and needs no account. Open the app, turn to a page, and begin.
WHAT IS INSIDE THE APP
The complete Qur'an, bundled and offline: all 604 mushaf pages, 6,236 ayat in verified Uthmani script, the Saheeh International English translation, and 77,429 word-by-word translations and transliterations. No connection required to read, search, or write.
Two reading layouts. Verse by verse, with translation under each ayah, or the printed Medina 15-line page with justified lines, illuminated surah headers, and Arabic-Indic ayah markers.
Pen-first annotation. Pressure, tilt, and twist are preserved. Five ink variants (pen, pencil, fountain, brush, marker), a highlighter that never darkens where strokes overlap, fifteen shapes with optional snapping, typed text boxes, and seven study stamps. Palm contacts are ignored while a stylus is drawing, and finger drawing can be turned off on its own.
Layers. Keep tafsir, vocabulary, and memorization on separate layers of the same page. Show, hide, lock, reorder, recolor, or merge them.
Notes and bookmarks that come back. Verse notes and page sticky notes carry titles, tags, and verse context. Search spans the Qur'an text, your notebooks, notes, and bookmarks, and every result reopens the original notebook at the exact page.
Recitation as a memorization instrument. Choose a verse range, a reciter, and a repetition method: straight through, 4 x 4, 3 x 3, building up, listen and repeat, or a loop. Every method states its count before it starts, and the ayah being recited is washed in a follow-along highlight that never obscures the script.
Reviewed tafsir and translations for a selected verse, delivered through a licensed content service. Scripture is never machine-translated.
Khatm tracking you can refuse. Pages are marked read explicitly, never by visiting them. Streaks are counted from real study, framed as gratitude rather than pressure, and a single setting hides all progress tracking for good.
Sharing without a feed. Ayah cards, reflection cards, and milesto and wide formats. Arabic is never cropped, ink never covers aglyph, and nothing posts by itself.
Made your own. Four Qur'an script faces (Naskh, Amiri Qur'an, Scheherazade, Lateef), four study rooms in light and dark, and four paper tones. The room around the page can darken. The page itself never does.
Built for a stylus and a tablet. Zoom from 0.75x to 4x, pages thaay a mushaf is bound, a left-handed toolbar layout, reducedmotion, and keyboard support.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your notebooks, handwriting, and notes are stored on your device. With no account, nothing personal leaves it. Create a free account only if you want a private cloud copy that syncs across your signed-in devices. In-ayou turn it on, and it never includes your notes, your ink, orverse text.
There are no ads, no feed, and no streak pressure.
FREE, AND STAYING FREE
Reading the complete Qur'an and writing on it are free and will remain free. A free account adds cloud sync at no cost. The free tier keeps one active notebook with two layers.
