İsim Şehir: Table Referee

Referee for the pen-and-paper Turkish word game: letter wheel, timer, scores.

İsim Şehir: Table Referee is not an online word game. It is the referee for İsim Şehir (Name, City, Animal…), the classic Turkish word game you play at the table with pen and paper. Everyone writes on their own sheet; one phone draws the letter, keeps the time, helps check the answers and adds up the scores.

HOW TO PLAY
1. Everyone writes the categories as columns on paper. Whoever holds the phone is the referee.
2. The referee spins the letter wheel. Answers must start with that letter.
3. The timer starts. The first to finish shouts “Stop!”, the referee taps the big STOP button and pens go down.
4. At checking time everyone reads their answers. The referee may type an answer and the app checks it against Turkish word lists: “in the list” or “not in the list — accept it anyway?”. A person always makes the final call.
5. A unique valid answer scores 10, an answer shared with someone else 5, a blank or invalid answer 0. Round and total score tables are automatic.

11 TURKISH CATEGORIES
Name, City, Animal, Plant, Object and Country are on by default. Job, Food, Celebrity, Colour and Brand can be added. Celebrity and Brand have no list: the referee decides alone.

TURKISH WORD LISTS, NO INTERNET
Answers are checked against Turkish word lists stored on the phone: Turkey's 81 provinces and their districts, world capitals and large cities, the 193 UN member countries, common Turkish first names, animals, plants, objects, jobs, foods and colours. Letter case (İ/I), circumflexes (â) and spaces do not matter. Small typos get a “Did you mean…?” suggestion, and players who wrote the same answer are marked as “same answer” automatically. The lists and letters are Turkish, so this app is for people who play İsim Şehir in Turkish.

LETTER WHEEL AND TIMER
All 29 letters of the Turkish alphabet on a big, colourful wheel. A used letter never comes up again in the same game. Hard letters (Ğ, I, J, Ö, Ü) start off and can be switched on. Round time 30, 60, 90 or 120 seconds; games of 3, 5, 8 or 10 rounds. The screen stays on while the timer runs.

ADJUSTABLE SCORING
2–10 players. Points for unique, same and blank answers are adjustable.

NO ACCOUNT, NO SERVER
No sign-up, no account. Player names and answers are never saved and are gone when the app closes. The game itself works without an internet connection; the internet is only used for ads. No ads are shown during a round: a full-screen ad may appear only when a game has ended and you leave the results screen, and never at the end of the first game after opening the app. No banner ads. In the European Economic Area and the UK you are asked for consent before ads.

ENGLISH AND TURKISH
The interface is in English and Turkish; the word lists and letters are Turkish.
