App Description

Tilt to dim your screen instantly and keep prying eyes off it.

Someone's reading over your shoulder on the train. A coworker glances at your screen at the next desk. Tilt Veil is a privacy screen that reacts to how you hold your phone, so you don't have to think about it — tilt, and the screen goes dark before anyone else can read it.

HOW TILT PROTECTION WORKS
Tilt your phone past a threshold (17° by default) and a full-screen dark overlay appears instantly — no unlocking a settings menu, no extra app switch. Straighten the phone back up and the overlay clears just as fast. You're in control of every part of it:
• Darkness — from a light dim to a full blackout
• Strength — how heavy the veil gets once it kicks in
• Tilt sensitivity — 5 levels, from a firm 25° lean down to a light 9° nudge (17° by default)
• Trigger direction — left, right, both sides, forward, back, or front-and-back (6 options)
• Calibration — hold your phone the way you normally do and calibrate to your grip in 3 seconds
A live preview on the main screen shows exactly how dark your screen will look before you turn protection on.

PATTERN MODE — A DIFFERENT KIND OF COVER
Prefer a textured overlay to a plain blackout? Switch to Pattern mode and choose from four looks — Bayer, Noise, Dither or Gradient — then tune darkness and opacity to taste. A small draggable bubble floats on top of your screen; tap it once to toggle the pattern on or off, and drag it to tuck it out of the way against either edge.

PROTECT ONLY THE APPS THAT NEED IT
By default, Tilt Veil covers every app on your phone. If you'd rather it only kick in for specific apps — your banking app, messenger, or email — open the app picker, search your installed apps, and select exactly the ones you want covered.

Tap Pause right from the notification to stand it down for a moment, and Resume when you want it back. Because the overlay draws on top of other apps, Tilt Veil asks for the "Display over other apps" permission the first time you turn protection on.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything happens on your device. Your tilt angle, your calibration, your chosen apps and your settings are stored locally and never uploaded anywhere. There's no account to create and no sign-in screen — install it and start using it right away. Tilt Veil is completely free, with every feature unlocked from the first launch, and the interface is available in 12 languages, including English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Vietnamese and Chinese.

Please note: Tilt Veil dims and covers your screen from people looking over your shoulder in person. It does not block or hide your screen from screenshots or screen recording, and it isn't an encryption tool — it's a physical-privacy screen for real-world glances, not a security product.

WHY TILT VEIL
• Reacts to a natural motion — tilting your phone — instead of a menu you have to dig for
• Two independent modes: solid Tilt dimming and textured Pattern overlays
• Per-app filtering so protection follows your actual privacy needs, not a blanket rule
• A visible, persistent Pause/Resume control — you always know when it's active

Whether you're commuting, working in an open office, or just want one less thing to think about when someone sits down next to you, Tilt Veil keeps your screen for your eyes only.
