DashCam application saves your vehicle camera videos feeds to your USB key
🚗 The DashCam application is dedicated to your vehicle equipped with an openR Link multimedia system.
For your vehicle to be compatible, you must have at least:
a vehicle:
- of Renault brand
- equipped with 4 cameras (360º around view (digital) camera)
- equipped with an OpenR Link multimedia system
- a multimedia system with a SW version >= 18.47.xy or higher
- a Google account registered on the multimedia system
- the vehicle model must be compatible (it may vary over time).
As of August 6, 2025, compatible vehicle models (meeting the above criteria):
- Austral
- Rafale
- Scenic
🎥 This application allows you to save video feeds from vehicle cameras to a USB stick.
😎 After installing the DashCam app, simply plug in a USB drive and you're ready to record without any other additional equipment!
📺 You can review the recorded videos later, either in the vehicle using the player integrated into the application, or take them in the USB key to view them at home according to your needs.

⚠️ The application require MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission
- It is used to automatically detect a connected USB drive and write video recordings to a specific, user-expected folder path (/DashCam/Videos/).
- This permission is critical because a dashcam must operate seamlessly without user interaction after initial setup.
- Alternatives like MediaStore API are not suitable as the video destination directory is not user-friendly and heavily nested.
- Our use of this permission is limited solely to managing video files within this designated dashcam folder.
