Rise of Civilizations is a turn-based 4X strategy game that spans human history from the Ancient Era to the Age of Exploration (about 4000 BCE to 1550 CE). Found cities, research technologies, raise armies, spread faith, and outlast rival empires on a living hex world.

EXPLORE
Uncover fog of war, meet tribal villages, discover natural wonders, and deal with barbarian camps that spawn raiders across the map. Procedural continents, archipelagos, inland seas, and more give every game a different geography.

EXPAND
Claim territory around your cities, improve tiles with farms and mines, build roads, and grow from a lone settler into a network of powerful cities. Workers, specialists, and wonders help you shape the land to your advantage.

EXPLOIT
Research an original technology tree built around real materials and crafts — from knapping and smelting to ironworking and siege engines. Manage food, production, gold, science, culture, and faith. Trade routes, resources, and luxuries keep your economy and cities thriving.

EXTERMINATE
Fight tactical hex combat with melee and ranged units, siege cities, earn promotions, and command units from clubmen and slingers to hoplites, war chariots, legionaries, war elephants, and early gunpowder armies. Diplomacy, war, pacts, and tribute let you choose peace or conquest.
