App Description

Sensory training for whiskey. Name what you taste, then test it blind.

Sensory training for whiskey β€” on your phone. You already taste it; Savorant gives you the word, then tests it blind. Ninety seconds a day to keep the nose sharp, twenty minutes with a glass when you want to go deeper β€” with the bottle you already own. Free to start, no card.

Experts don't smell better than you β€” tested side by side, their noses come out about the same. What they have is association: matching what is in the glass against things they already know, and giving it its true name. That is trainable, and Savorant is the training.

HOW IT WORKS

Ten families of flavor, each anchored to something from a grocery shelf. Smell the real caramel, then meet it in the glass β€” the anchor hands your mind a handle it already owns.

Say your note out loud, at the glass. Savorant maps your words, mirrors your note back in tasting order β€” nose, palate, finish β€” and offers one better word. One nudge per note, never a red pen. Stuck for a word? Tap a family and its words appear, with the kitchen anchor for each.

Every word you earn joins your word list, and the next glass is read against it. A name sharpens the next smell; the sharper smell earns another name.

Then check it blind. Triangle tests with honest odds β€” and the app stays silent until there are enough rounds to mean anything.

Set aside a few ounces of a bottle you own as a reference pour, marked only with a code. Months later, one mystery pour in six is secretly a whiskey you already read. Did the same families answer? Did your measures land in the same place? That consistency β€” not a certificate β€” is what the training is for.

A proof calculator: pour a barrel-proof whiskey, pick the proof you want, and it tells you exactly how much water to add.

WHAT IS FREE

The ten families and their lessons, unlimited guided tastings, the daily nose, the proof calculator, your own record, and the first 6 of 35 course units. You can use Savorant and never pay us.

WHAT IS PAID

Savorant Full: $29.99 a year, or $69.99 once as one of the first 500 Founding Tasters, for the rest of the course, the blind engine, the drills, and the numbers. Every new account starts with 30 days of everything β€” no card, nothing to cancel.

WHAT IT WILL NOT DO

It will not improve your sense of smell. Training changes what you can name and tell apart β€” not the hardware. It will not grade your palate or rank you against anyone. And your record is private; nobody else sees it.

For adults of legal drinking age β€” 21+ Β· United States only, for now.

savorant Β· SAV-or-ahnt Β· one who knows what they taste.
