App Description

Spooky Stories is an offline storytelling game with 100 spooky-themed cards!

Spooky Stories is a light, spooky party storytelling game you can play in a group. Draw cards with short prompts and build a silly story together. One hundred built-in cards with original inline artwork—no accounts. Gameplay works fully offline once the app is installed; card data and art are bundled in the app (no remote game downloads for normal play).

How it works:
Each card is a short prompt (character, place, object, or event). First player reveals the top card and says a spooky phrase that uses that card’s word; later players repeat the story so far in order, then add a new phrase with their new card. It’s meant for friends or family—a casual “story deck” vibe, not graphic horror. Use the in-app **Exit** control when you’re done (on Android).

Features:
• **100 built-in cards** with themed SVG art
• **New Game** shuffles the full deck; optional **custom cards** you add are mixed into the cards not yet drawn
• **Share deck (QR code)** — share the **exact same card order** (including custom cards) with another phone: show the QR, or use **Share** to send the QR image through Messages, WhatsApp, etc. Scanning loads that deck locally. Everything is **device-to-device**; there is no matchmaking server. If the encoded data is too large for one QR, the app falls back to sharing a shuffle seed (same as older builds).
• **Past games:** save progress, browse saves, continue a tale, or flip through cards from a saved game (stored **locally** on your device)
• **Help** with rules and a short guide to the on-screen buttons

Inspiration & disclaimer:
Gameplay is inspired by the Goosebumps Storytelling Card Game. Spooky Stories is not affiliated with Scholastic, R. L. Stine, or any rights holder of that product—this is an independent fan-style party deck, not an official game.

Privacy:
No sign-in and no ads in the build described in our open-source project. We don’t run first-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in that build; saves and deck state stay on your device unless your **device or Google** backs up or syncs app data (see the linked privacy policy). The Android app may list network permission common to WebView-based apps; **game content is not loaded from our servers** for normal play.
