App Description
Communication improvement app for Parkinson's disease patients
◆About Pocket PD
Pocket PD is an app for Parkinson's disease patients.
Its purpose is to support understanding Parkinson's disease symptoms and communication with healthcare professionals through recording OFF episodes, medication, and questionnaires.
◆Key Features
1. Visualizing OFF Episodes and Medication Timing
Understanding when OFF episodes occur throughout the day allows you to consider your daily rhythm. Accurately reporting OFF episodes occurring outside of consultation hours also allows for more appropriate communication with healthcare professionals regarding OFF episodes.
2. Visualizing Symptoms with MASAC-PD31
MASAC-PD31 is a questionnaire developed by the Parkinson's Disease Association and Japanese physicians that assesses the severity of both motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease. It is compatible with various Parkinson's disease questionnaires. Pocket PD allows you to continuously monitor symptom changes using MASAC-PD31.
③ Visualizing Symptoms Through Video
Since the severity of symptoms varies from patient to patient, objectively reviewing symptoms through video and having healthcare professionals review them as well allows for a more accurate understanding of the condition.
④ Displaying Only Important Topics for Communication with Doctors
Consultation time is limited, so it's important to discuss the topics patients want to discuss concisely. To that end, we clearly display the most commonly identified OFF symptoms and medication timing based on interviews with doctors. Furthermore, the MASAC-PD31 features a function that allows users to display only the topics patients want to discuss, thereby reducing the time required for review.
