App Description
Measure noise levels in real-time with animated gauge, live chart and dB stats.
Sound Meter Pro turns your phone into a precise sound level meter. Using your device's microphone, it measures environmental noise in decibels (dB) and displays results through an animated gauge, real-time scrolling chart, and session statistics — all in a clean, modern interface.
Whether you're checking workplace noise, monitoring home sound levels, or simply curious about the volume around you, Sound Meter Pro provides instant, easy-to-understand readings.
HOW IT WORKS
Open the app and start measuring immediately. The main screen displays your current decibel reading on an animated semi-circular gauge with a smooth needle indicator. Below the gauge, a live line chart tracks sound fluctuations over time, helping you spot noise patterns at a glance.
Session statistics show minimum, maximum, and average decibel values alongside an elapsed timer, so you always know how long you have been measuring and what the trends look like.
FEATURES
Animated Decibel Gauge
A smooth semi-circular gauge displays your current dB level with color-coded segments from green (quiet) to red (loud). The needle moves fluidly with real-time spring animations.
Live Sound Timeline
A scrolling line chart visualizes noise changes over time with a gradient fill, helping you identify patterns and spikes in environmental sound.
Session Statistics
Track minimum, maximum, and average dB readings throughout your measurement session with an elapsed timer.
Noise Level Labels
Instant feedback tells you whether sound is "Very Quiet", "Quiet", "Moderate", "Loud", "Very Loud", or at a "Dangerous" level. Labels update dynamically with color changes.
Microphone Calibration
Adjust the decibel offset to improve accuracy for your specific device. A calibration slider lets you fine-tune readings from -30 to +30 dB.
Play, Pause, Reset Controls
Full control over your measurement session. Start, pause, and reset at any time.
Noise Reference Guide
An in-app reference showing common sound sources and their typical decibel levels — from breathing at 10 dB to fireworks at 140 dB.
Keep Screen On
Enable wakelock to prevent the screen from turning off during extended measurements.
Sound Alert Threshold
Set a custom dB threshold and receive an alert when noise exceeds your defined level.

IMPORTANT NOTES
Smartphone microphones are designed for voice recording. Decibel readings may differ from professional SPL meters. Use the calibration feature to adjust accuracy for your device. For precise measurements, we recommend verifying with a professional sound level meter.
Loud noise exposure above 85 dB for extended periods can damage hearing. Use Sound Meter Pro to stay aware of your sound environment and protect your hearing health.
