WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING
“I loved the visuals. The Bay overlay was really, really cool. That this was the center of the world for the Ohlone. I feel blessed to live here. One part I really liked, and I think the kids identified with, was how Coyote didn’t solve everything and let them figure it out…. so YOU have to solve it.” - Maddie, Local mom, kids 7 and 9

“I really liked the storyline, as it allowed me to learn about the history of this place, get to know the Ohlone people, and understand their way of life. One memorable part of the experience was entering different houses to collect objects, which not only added interactivity but also gave me a more vivid sense of their daily life. Through AR and audio, I could more easily connect the environment in front of me with stories from the past.” - Zixu, College Student, 20

“This experience gave me a new perspective on the Presidio. I’ve been to the park many times, but through the AR tour, I discovered places and stories I had never noticed before. The animations and interactions helped me pay more attention to my surroundings and feel more connected to the history behind the space.” - Vivian, local college student, 21

THE STORY
What starts as a boring school excursion becomes an unforgettable adventure when Coyote, the Ohlone animal god, interrupts Alfi on his 5th grade field trip, guiding him through the layered history of the land. This interactive, cinematic experience uses humor, music, and dynamic visuals to transform how you see the Presidio National Park and San Francisco's cultural history.

FROM THE CREATORS
"This is a different kind of immersive experience than most people have had. Like a movie, there is a story and characters you are following, but the park itself becomes a character in the narrative, from its views, to its history, to its people." - Michael Epstein, Writer and Director

"Petlenuc Interrupted is not just straight history. It's looking at stories that I'd been told growing up, our traditional stories, leaning into humor and adventure, which is how the best Indigenous stories work." Carlee Malemut, Writer (Athabaskan tribe member)
