If you're not comfortable using smartphones, there's a function that allows family or friends to assist you with detailed settings. You can notify the person you want to help via email, and they can complete the settings remotely.

[Emergency Notifications]
When rain clouds approach, or when important information regarding earthquakes, tsunamis, or volcanoes is announced, you'll receive a notification on your smartphone as soon as possible.
