App Description
The ALS@Home app has been developed for patients with ALS, PLS and PSMA.
The ALS@home app has been developed for patients with ALS, PLS and PSMA to provide tailor-made care. To use this app, you must be registered as a patient with an ALS treatment team that uses the app.
In this app you can keep track of your weight, how you are doing and information about physical functioning, such as walking, swallowing or dressing. You can then send this information to your ALS treatment team. In this way, your healthcare provider receives real-time information about your health and, if necessary, receives additional alerts.
This continuous information from the ALS app helps the rehabilitation doctor to better tailor care to the individual patient. The healthcare provider can better monitor the course of the disease and, if necessary, adjust your treatment plan together with you. The checks in the hospital can also be better tailored to your needs. You also have the option to ask your healthcare provider questions via the app.
The ALS Home Measurement and Coaching app was developed by the ALS Center Netherlands, in collaboration with patients and informal caregivers, and with financial support from the UMC Utrecht and the ALS Netherlands Foundation.
The app is currently being rolled out in the ALS Healthcare Network. Ask your treatment team about the options for using the app.
