App Description
Hundreds of prisoner drawings were made about the Dachau memorial.
ARt is the short name of the project: “The Dachau concentration camp memorial in drawings. Art meets augmented reality ”. AR in ARt stands for Augmented Reality. With the help of this technology, drawings that thematize the history of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial are related to the grounds of the Concentration Camp Memorial. The app also contains parts of graphic novels designed by descendants of the prisoners and other artists. In addition, audio contributions can be heard. They explain the pictorial memories - among other things with the help of other traditions of the former prisoners.
The tour with the app includes 22 pictures on the outdoor area of the concentration camp memorial and takes about an hour.
Only individual images can also be viewed. To do this, scan the respective QR code on the steles.
The app has interactive elements.
Headphones should be used to understand the audio.
We recommend downloading the app onto a smartphone or tablet before visiting the concentration camp memorial. It does not require an internet connection to use.

ARt was developed by the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site in cooperation with the start-up ZAUBAR. The concentration camp memorial was financially supported by the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” (EVZ), the Bavarian Sparkasse Foundation, the Foundation “Education & Science” of the Sparkasse Dachau and the Foundation Bavarian Memorials.
