Make animated map videos on your phone: countries fill in, routes draw across the map, and the camera flies from place to place. Mapvid is a map animation maker for history, geography and news creators who publish short vertical videos. Build your story on a simple timeline, preview it instantly, and export a video ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. ★ WHAT YOU CAN ANIMATE - Countries, provinces and continents: fill them in with Fade, Wipe, Circle, Noise or Ink spread effects. Group steps to morph one territory into the next, with borders that fuse automatically. - Travel routes and journeys: a point moves along a curved route and leaves a solid, dashed or dotted line. Use a circle, arrow, square or your own image as the moving point. - Attack and migration arrows: thick tapered arrows that grow along a path. - Camera moves: fly to any place, push in, orbit, drift, or follow a journey. Add pulse or shake for emphasis. - Borders and spotlights: outline any territory, or darken everything except the areas you want viewers to see. ★ ADD CONTEXT WITH LABELS AND CARDS - Text with fonts, outlines and animations: fade, slide, pop, bounce, typewriter and wipe. - Markers: cities, capitals, pins, stars, battles, explosions and flags, with optional pulse rings. - Images in shapes: circle, heart, hexagon, star and more. - Waving flags: make any flag or picture wave. - Info cards and animated counters: show facts, dates, populations or casualties counting up on screen. - Drag, resize and rotate everything right on the preview. ★ MAP STYLES AND MUSIC - Choose from Light, Satellite, Vintage, Minimal, Natural terrain and country-colour styles. - Customize water, land, rivers, coastlines and border lines to create your own look. - Switch styles mid-video with a cut, fade, wipe or circle reveal. - Add music or sound from your own audio library and set the volume. ★ BUILT FOR PHONE EDITING - Timeline editor with a fixed playhead, pinch zoom, trim handles and layered rows. - Duplicate an element to create keyframes that animate from one position to the next. - Search places by name: "Zambezia, Mozambique", "Africa" or coordinates. - Draw your own territories by tapping corners or freehand. - Unlimited undo and redo, and projects save automatically. - Import and export project files to back up or share your work. ★ WORKS OFFLINE Map tiles, country and province shapes, flags and fonts are built in. You only need the internet for optional web images, which are saved for offline use after the first download. ★ EXPORT YOUR WAY - Formats: 9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 4:5 and 4:3 - Resolution: 480p, 720p, 1080p and 1440p - Frame rate: 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps - Export in the background while you use other apps.
