App Description
A calm space to breathe, reflect, and reset.
Between Rounds is a private wellness app designed for medical students, residents, and healthcare trainees β people who need meaningful mental health support but rarely have time for it.
Built around a simple 4-phase framework, Between Rounds guides you from stressed to steady in just 2β5 minutes:
β’ GROUND β Settle into your body. Notice your breath, posture, and contact with the ground.
β’ REMEMBER β Let an ordinary safe moment come to mind. Not a milestone β something small.
β’ RESET β Reduce the noise. What actually needs your attention today?
β’ EXPAND β From a steadier place, what feels possible?
FEATURES
Home Dashboard
A daily check-in that guides you through today's reset. Time-aware greetings and a clear path through each phase.
Breathe
4-7-8 breathing with an animated circle that expands and contracts in real time. Proven to quiet the nervous system fast.
Journal
Four guided prompts β one for each phase of your reset. All entries are saved privately on your device. Nothing leaves your phone.
Progress
Streak tracking and a week-at-a-glance view of your consistency. A quiet record of the habits you're building.
Sounds
Ambient soundscapes β forest rain, ocean tide, singing bowl, white noise, slow piano β to settle the room around you.
PRIVACY
Between Rounds collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics. Your journal entries are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
DESIGNED FOR DEMANDING LIVES
Healthcare training is one of the most stressful environments in the world. Between Rounds was built around that reality β not despite it. Designed by a clinician for the demands of healthcare training, and useful for anyone who needs a quiet moment to breathe and reset.
Built by Aislinn Hopkins, Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
