The platform aims at the continuous professional development of social workers.

The Social Work Platform in Kosovo is a project of the Department of Social Work and the Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Pristina and the Department of Social and Family Policies, Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers. The main purpose of the Platform is to strengthen social services based on human rights approaches and methods. The platform aims at the continuous professional development of social workers through training and collaboration between academia, social service professionals and policy-makers, as well as the promotion of social welfare studies in Kosovo and internationally.

The development of the Platform was carried out within the project "Mitigating the impact of COVID-19 on children and families in the Western Balkans and Turkey". Within this project, UNICEF and the European Union have collaborated to protect the well-being of children in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Kosovo, the project was implemented in partnership, among others, with the Institute of Psychology, University of Prishtina for access to mental and psychosocial services through the project "Improving access to mental health and psychosocial services for children and families and ecosystem assessment digital for continuous online learning.
