Vikelaia Municipal Library
The application was created in the context of the implementation of the "Digitization and display of the printed archive of the Vikelaia Municipal Library" project. This is a project to enrich the Digital Library of Historical Documents with new documented and digitized material from the valuable archive of newspapers owned by the Vikelaia Municipal Library.
Through the application, the visitor is given the opportunity to browse the sites of Vikelaia and have a first acquaintance with its historical archive and especially with the Archive of newspapers and magazines. The application presents information and other multimedia elements in an innovative way with the technology of augmented reality.
The project was implemented within the CRETE Operational Program 2014-2020, with the Municipality of Heraklion as beneficiary.
