TimeTeer (Timebank for volunteer) combines the concept of a time bank to provide a one-stop service, allowing you to store your volunteer hours at different centers in exchange for the services or activities you need.

TimeTeer (Timebank for volunTeer) is an application developed by Professor Zheng Zhengang of the School of Computing and Data Science and Professor Lin Yixing of the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at the University of Hong Kong, combining the concept of a time bank. This application provides a one-stop service, allowing you to store volunteer service hours from different centers (those already participating in TimeTeer) and exchange them for needed services and/or opportunities to participate in activities, promoting mutual assistance, building social capital, and jointly meeting societal challenges.

• Store and Redeem Hours: Accumulate hours by completing volunteer service, which can be used to redeem services or activities.

• Smart Matching: The system recommends suitable services and activities based on your preferences and hours.

• Organization Management Tools: Participating organizations can easily recruit volunteers and promote services without cumbersome manual processing.

• Security and Choice: You can choose to disclose or receive data as needed, protecting your personal privacy.

Getting Started:

5. Download and Register an Account

• You can set your own registration account and password, and fill in application information such as your name in Chinese and English, gender, date of birth, education level, contact number, place of residence, and other information (such as email, emergency contact) and preferences.

6. Choose to Join a Center

• You can choose to participate in and/or serve a center. A center you have joined will manage your personal data, receive and register for your desired services and/or activities.

7. Await Approval and Start Using

• After approval, you can view, register for, and access your volunteer hours through TimeTeer, and redeem services or activities.

8. Other Methods:

• If you are unable to apply yourself, you can contact your participating and/or serving center to have them create an account for you.

Additional Information:

• Only center activities and/or services participating in the TimeTeer program can store and redeem hours through this application.

• If your center is not participating in the TimeTeer program, you can still use this application, but only to view or participate in public events.

• The University of Hong Kong team may collect data through an application and conduct research and statistics anonymously.
